Pinellas County Council of PTAs

The Pinellas County Council PTA/PTSA (PCCPTA) is organized under the authority of the Florida Congress of Parents and Teachers (FPTA). Its main purpose is to provide leadership, serve, assist and act as a resource for local unit PTA/PTSAs.

The Council is directed by the same objectives and basic policies as the National and Florida Congress of Parents and Teachers. We develop our programs and define our projects to fit the needs of Pinellas County. The Council offers a wide range of training, resources and coordination of efforts for its member PTAs.

The Council acts as a channel of communication by relating valuable information, instruction and news from state and national PTAs to our membership. We alert our local PTA/PTSAs to state and national plans, helping them translate these plans into programs and projects that serve the community.

Members work together for children and youth, address problems in their schools and neighborhoods, support teachers, volunteer in schools, attend workshops on parenting, and become informed on issues regarding children that may be brought before the state legislature.
